I wanted to trade David Wright for Mark Teixeira and sign Adrian Beltre to play 3B.

Does anyone remember Pete Walker? There was a guy on the old board who would post how he was going to be the next big thing....I agreed with him.

- Loved getting Mo Vaughn over any other move made that year.

- Thought Mike Hampton would be our ace for the next decade.

- Was pissed the Mets did not consider Wally Backman for Mets Manager.

- Thought Melvin Mora was an excellent bench player..but never would he be an everyday starter.

- Early on in their carrers mind you but still horrendous...I used to argue with Yankee fan friends and family that Ordonez was a better SS than Derek Jeter.

- I too was guilty of Minky over Delgado

- Wasn't happy when we traded for Piazza over Hundley, nor when we signed Pedro.

I still say that Rey Ordonez is a better fielder than Jeter.

I was also in love with Jerrod Riggan, and thought he would become an above average setup man for the Mets

Rey Ordonez was a better fielder than Jeter...but than again he was a better fielder than any SS in baseball so...

I thought the same thing of Grant Roberts Liberal Conspiracy...except that I thought one day he would be a closer.

I actually wanted the Mets to keep Appier rather then get Vaughn...I don't know who did worse in that deal.

I have a bunch, but I think the worst....I didn't want the Mets to get Pedro. I had my arguements, but I must say he has helped more than anyone to turn the franchise around and give it some attitude.

Oh, I was also pissed we let Alfonzo go to the Giants. And I thought Pedro Astacio was good.

Could pick some things from my sim league too:
- Thought Tim Stauffer was going to be an ace for me
- Traded Grady Sizemore for Kelvim Escobar (which doesn't sound that bad, but this was before Escobar was good and I lost him to free agency at the end of the season)

I actually liked the Pornstache signing when it first happened, but then I made it seem like I didn't like it when he started to suck...I guess my stupidity lies in my wavering

I LOVED the 2002 offseason...i thought Steve Phillips was a genius and we were going to be the best team in baseball...I mean, we added former all-stars Jeff D'Amico and Shawn Estes to the staff...we added Roger Cedeno to be the leadoff guy and his last stint with the Mets he posted an OBP over .400...we added one of the best second baseman of all-time in Roberto Alomar and had a healthy(supposedly) Edgardo Alfonzo back...we added 2 guys that could crush 30+ homeruns easily in Mo Vaughn and Jeromy Burnitz...look at this lineup and think of it's potential

lineup:
Cedeno
Alomar
Fonzie
Piazza
Vaughn
Burnitz
Payton
Ordonez

Rotation:
Leiter
Estes
D'Amico
Astacio
Trachsel

I hated when they fired Dallas Green to hire Bobby Valentine

I really liked the Roberto Alomar trade.

I didn't like the Jose Pornstache signing, I thought he was done after last season and then after the start he had to this season.

I wanted the Mets to resign Edgardo Alfonzo.

I also wanted the Mets to sign Juan Gonzalez.

Wanted the mets to keep Rico Brogna (i loved that guy for some reason)

Didnt like the Piazza trade because of Hundley

Thought Mo Vaughn would be awesome for us and i felt bad for Burnitz i kept waiting for him to come around

Hated it when they let Fonzie go
