Woohoo, I got a sticky. Going on the resume. Someday, a forum like Benny. Someday.

At least it wasn't Tim Robbins grandmother.

From last night, Kenny Rogers is the best lefty in the game right now.

Oh Joe Morgan, you are so insightful!

"That is Derek Jeters hand." - Jon Miller, when Fox was showing Jeter flinching his wrist.

And we have a winner for dumbest thing ever. Making fun of the guy with the "binocular gadget" for one full inning last game, followed by an apology today because the guy is blind and that's the only way he can see. Priceless.

and McCarver goes for some "departed" reference with the dodgers facing elimination...with such a convoluted sentence that we saw thru his blatantly obvious not-so-witty reference and just prayed it would be over quickly.

"and now this vaulted Mets bullpen is melting down."

Well, no shit, our starters are averaging 4 innings a start instead of 6. The RPs are pitching two more innings a night. That's the not-so-good guys like Feliciano, Mota, Oliver instead of Bradford, Heilman and Wagner.

"Nice pickup by GM Omar Minaya, the veteran can still swing the bat" - mccarvers sidekick on Michael Tucker, right after the graphic of Tucker hitting .196 this year was on the screen.

honestly, Tim McCarver makes what should be an awesome evening (watching my team in the playoffs) a miserable experience. I turn into a sniveling [CENSORED] mocking him, yelling at the TV, hurling insults at McCarver, praying for his death, and thinking about how horrible it is that he's calling the game.

Why can't the company who spent billions to buy TV rights buy someone who America likes to do TV?

What would be the problem? MNF tried Dennis Miller to give fans what they wanted: more entertainment during the game.

I don't want McCarver trying to be dramatic and wax poetic on every sentence. I don't want Brenneman's super-fake announcer voice.

Just give me two guys:

One who can call the game with a decent voice, relay intelligent information and let ME discern what it means without acting like he's god's gift to American broadcasting.

One guy on color who can offer insight that most people don't know. Al Leiter was awesome at it on year in the playoffs... then the other year, he sucked. He told me what pitchers were thinking about setting up hitters; the logic behind pitch selection; and what it's like to be an MLB pitcher from his experience. It was brilliant.

That's all I want, something I can't see for myself, or didn't think of:

For example, the graphics guy -- who I think is Mark Wagner, THE best in the business -- put up a lower-third that said "Dodgers: 1-44 this season when trailing by 4+ runs."

I can't know that myself. That's a great graphic.

Not only did McCarver and Thom not mention the graphic at all, but they didn't mention the ONE game the Dodgers DID win was INCREDIBLE: The Dodgers hitting FOUR STRAIGHT homers to win a game three weeks ago (which I'm sure FOX had footage of).

Why can't we have two announcers helping us enjoy the game instead of McCarver's massive ego, Thom's fake voice, no insight, and worthless opinions that piss me off.

McCarver:

"There should be a hold, or something statistically to record the value of a set up man."

Wow, Tim... you mean, like...

McCarver and Thom talk about how clutch in the post-season Jeff Kent has been his entire career.

Career postseason, entering 2006:

.267 BA, .337 OBP, .777 OPS (.022, .029, .093 below his career averages)

His team has won just 3 of eight post-season series, 0 championships.

Deep throat Jeter all you want, at least you can back that up.

I thought it was funny in the bottom of the 7th when they showed Heilman warmin up mccarver messed up on accident and it was hillarious:

" The mets really want to get through this 7th inning without having to bring Heilman in because the pitcher spot is due up first the next inning. If they do have to bring Heilman in theyll have to pull a DOUBLE SHIT... er a Double Shift"

I CRACKED UP LAUGHINNNG when he said the mets have to pull a double shit... so not only did he make a duhhh statement that any dumbass knew w/o him saying it , he couldnt even get it out right and ended up swearin on live TV... gr8 times

Joe Morgan on check swings (paraphrased):

Slow motion is misleading and creates the illusion that your bathead goes further than you actually do.

After Buck says that Molina changes his batting stance almost every game.......
McCarver: "His best position is squatting"
