Remembering the crucial at bat in Game 7, the one where we truly lost the game with [CENSORED] up...

I have to wonder if Kaz Matsui would have done any worse in the 2006 playoffs.

Porno was nice in the regular season, but lets face it, noone was catching us for the division and [CENSORED] wasnt the difference in us winning it.

Looking back at Porno's HORRIBLE post season, one has to wonder how we would have faired with Matsui.

Laugh all you want, but look at Kaz's numbers after he left Ny. Not as much pressure? Mabye, but Rick Down has to shoulder some blame here. I never liked him and feel he does a terrible job.

Everyone was trying to hit homeruns in Game 7, it was sickening. I bet anything Kaz does no worse in the 2006 post season and mabye, just mabye, he gets the job done in that big spot.

I have to wonder what would ever make you think Matsui would do any better...it's not like he had some huge success in big spots or anything...you're grasping at straws man

Manny Acta is the 3rd base coach

Rick Down was the hitting coach

Im still annoyed at you questioning there heart...sometimes you just give it up to the pitcher...Suppan pitched really well, so did Weaver...they didn't lose because they didn't have heart they lose because the guy on the mound did a good job...

So you fire a coach responsible for the team's hitting because of the performance in several games even though the team hit amazingly well throughout the season?

True...firing the hitting coach for not socring enough runs in a 7 game series, as opposed to scoring the most runs all year seems like a reasonable idea though...

The Mets have been "tipping their cap" to the opposing pitchers for years.

At some point, it gets a little old and you have to start taking responsibility.

Cmon, Suppan??? Our at bats were TERRIBLE Game 7.

The hitters not hitting for a couple games when the team placed near the top of the league in runs scored is not a reason to fire a hitting coach.

Yeah Suppan the guy with the best era in the entire NL the 2nd half...and what the hell are you talking about we've tipping our hats to pitchers for years? We had the best offense in the league this year, we got shutdown...you gotta get over it...and be glad your not a cub fan because you might've committed suicide by now

You got it.

And our team did not hit "amazingly well", the stats lie. We had many games where we scored 15 runs and way too many games where we couldnt score worth a lick.

It was "all or nothing" the whole season, and thats not good. Card series a PERFECT example. 12 runs in Game 4, 1 run in Game 7.

Inconsistent offense is not a "good" offense to me. I'd rather have less gaudy numbers with an average of 4-5 runs per game on a consistent basis.
