For shits and grins... please post your #2 hitters that you feel are better batting second. And make sure you post their stats FROM the #2 hole.

And for now... lets stick to the NL.

I will not partake in your stupid exercises.

Pretty much any hitter with a higher OBP and some power is better suited for the #2 hole than LoDuca. You are way too obsessed with lineup roles.

Now about Lo Duca, we have to worry about his 2nd Half Swoon

Now here comes Chenzo to say he's played in maybe 5 less games

Start worrying when he starts not performing. If he starts to [CENSORED] and someone else can step up (Floyd)... make the move.

And while we're at it, LoDuca is 12th/16th in the majors in OBP amongst guys who qualify in the #2 hole, and 11th/16th in OPS. So, I'd probably take all 10 guys ahead of him, and throw Vizquel in there for his .363 OBP and better speed

Awesome man. There, I played your stupid game.

LoDuca is not a good #2 hitter. Accept it.

It might just be my mood right now, but the more the season goes on, the more it seems to me like lineups are just overrated.

The Mets are on pace to score 858 runs this season, which would be a team record if it help up. They are also 2nd in the NL in R/G.

Now I do think that LoDuca's skills aren't necessarily built well for the 2-spot, but the fact of the matter is that right now the offense is most definitely working whether or not it is with him or in spite of him.

That said, *IF* his 2nd half performance trends do start to kick in (i.e., sub-.600 OPS) then he can't hit #2. But I'm also not convinced that is bound to happen, considering how much more rest Randolph has given him this year vs. previous years (about 50 PAs under his 1st half norms).

I agree, senor, lineups are very overrated. I've said it in the past. There are definitely ways to maximize your output, but it doesn't make a *huge* difference at the end of the year.

The problem with lineups is you can't just hide guys. Everyone has to come up eventually. So, you can bury your worst hitter #8, but he's still coming up 3 or 4 times a game. He's going to hurt you anyway.

Well then since you want to throw AL numbers in there... I guess we can never say something like "Well he would do much better in the NL". Since both leagues are now EQUAL according to Hire. Wow... what a precedent we are setting here.

Not a good #2 hitter... but he is 12th out of 30 or so teams. I wouldn't call that "not a good hiter"... thats actually better than average to me.

So, this whole argument is essentially coming down to 12.96 runs over the course of a season. [(Maximized lineup R/G - current lineup R/G)*162)]

Lineups are, definitely, overrated.

Loduca is one of the worst hitters since Miguel Cairo

His average is a little higher but he is basically doing the same thign cairo did for us last year

Ground out and have a positive attitude

Jesus Christ. Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying. The AL and NL are equal. Cut your shit.

That's only guys who have enough PA's hitting #2 to be qualified for the batting title !!! He is NOT 12th out of all 30 teams!! You continue to be misleading in your statements.

Willie deserves a lot of credit here, as LoDuca has accumulated about 50 fewer PA's this season than he typically has in the past - and that is with him collecting more PA's hitting #2. I don't see the fade this year that he has experienced in years past.
